Terms of Service
Effective Date: August 28, 2026 ยท Last Updated: August 28, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Estatey (the "Service"), a web application operated by Obtoos Ventures LLC d/b/a Estatey ("Estatey," "we," "us," or "our"), available at estatey.app. By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Description of the Service
Estatey helps individuals catalog financial accounts, property, and beneficiary information for estate planning purposes. The Service allows you to upload financial statements and related documents, review and supplement automatically extracted data, and generate a printable summary document intended for inclusion with your estate planning materials.
Estatey is not a law firm, financial advisory service, or fiduciary, and does not provide legal, tax, or financial advice. The Service is an organizational and informational tool only.
2. Eligibility and Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract to use the Service. You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate information when creating your account
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
- All activity that occurs under your account
You must notify us promptly at privacy@estatey.app if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
3. Google Drive Integration and Your Data
Estatey is designed so that your sensitive financial and estate planning data is not permanently retained on Estatey's servers. Instead:
- When you connect your Google account, Estatey requests access to Google Drive using the restricted
drive.filescope. This scope only allows Estatey to access files that you create through the Service or explicitly open with it โ Estatey cannot browse, read, or modify the rest of your Google Drive. - The data you upload and the summaries Estatey generates (financial account details, property records, beneficiary designations, and similar estate planning content) are stored in your own Google Drive, not on Estatey's servers.
- Estatey retains only an encrypted authorization token needed to access the specific files it creates in your Drive on your behalf, and account information necessary to operate your Estatey login (such as your email address).
- Estatey's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
You are responsible for the security of your own Google account and Google Drive, including any sharing permissions you set on files Estatey creates there. Revoking Estatey's access via your Google Account permissions will prevent the Service from reading or writing files, and may limit or disable core functionality.
For more detail on how we handle data, see our Privacy Policy.
4. Accuracy of Extracted and User-Provided Information
Estatey uses automated tools (including optical character recognition and document parsing) to extract information from uploaded statements. This automated extraction may contain errors. You are solely responsible for:
- Reviewing all auto-extracted data for accuracy before relying on it
- Manually entering or correcting information, particularly beneficiary designations and other critical estate planning details
- Verifying that any generated summary document accurately reflects your actual accounts, property, and wishes before using it in connection with your estate plan
Estatey is a tool to help you organize information โ it does not verify the accuracy of your financial institution records, confirm beneficiary designations with any institution, or guarantee that generated documents are complete, current, or legally sufficient for any purpose.
5. No Legal, Financial, or Tax Advice
Nothing in the Service constitutes legal, financial, tax, or estate planning advice. You should consult a qualified attorney, financial advisor, or tax professional regarding your specific estate planning needs. Use of Estatey does not create an attorney-client relationship or any other professional relationship.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
- Upload documents you do not have the legal right to upload, or that contain information about individuals without appropriate authorization
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service, except as permitted by law
- Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without our prior written consent
7. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, software, and branding, is owned by Obtoos Ventures LLC d/b/a Estatey and protected by intellectual property laws. You retain all rights to the data and documents you upload or generate through the Service. We claim no ownership over your content.
8. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms, or for any other reason with reasonable notice where practicable. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends; data you have stored in your own Google Drive remains yours and is unaffected, as Estatey does not retain a separate copy.
9. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT EXTRACTED OR GENERATED DATA WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OBTOOS VENTURES LLC D/B/A ESTATEY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US, IF ANY, IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Obtoos Ventures LLC d/b/a Estatey from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date, and, where appropriate, via email or in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
